Squidoo

Here is an interesting way to make pathfinders or subject guides for library patrons. Squidoo.com lets users create what they call "lenses" on pretty much any subject. The idea is to share what you know with others and learn from them, too. Of course, any user-generated information on the web should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. Everything on Squidoo should be verified with another source, since anyone can say anything about anything whether it is fact or fiction. I like Squidoo for the same reason I like Wikipedia. It is a nice starting point to gather keywords related to a topic and get a general outline.

I have created four lenses so far:
Consumer Information

Michigan Reports (this will be useful next May when South Lyon kids are doing Michigan reports!)

Doing Online Research

Career Info
