RIP Jeffrey Zaslow

Jeffrey Zaslow, author of books like The Girls from Ames and The Magic Room (not to mention co-author of several others, like The Last Lecture, Highest Duty, and Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope), passed away tragically this weekend. He was in a car accident in northern Michigan on February 10th. He had spoken at my library, as well as many other libraries in this area. He even had several speaking engagements lined up for the next few months at libraries around southeast Michigan.

If you haven't read his books, I highly recommend them - ALL of them! He writes with empathy for his characters, and tells a great story. I have high respect for Mr. Zaslow and his work, and I wish his family peace and healing.

There's a nice article about Zaslow at the Huffington Post and another at the Detroit Free Press.
